The first presidential debate of the United States for this post-pandemic election campaign and amidst so many military crises managed to stop the world, well…, I mean the wheels that move the world. At least last night, the economic elite, the political classes of our central region and the Caribbean, and I’m sure Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East, focused their attention on what should have been the intellectual performance, the debate of ideas, and proposals of the two main political leaders of the modern empire.
REASONS BEHIND AN AMBUSH
The United States must understand that they are being stalked by international powers aiming to reclaim their status of respect and fear in the world, along with their freedoms of action without a big monster to sanction them or keep them in check through organizations that were born as strong arms of an armed power over the ashes that covered Hiroshima in 1945.
WHAT THE WORLD WAS EXPECTING
The American continent, represented in the U.S. by every immigrant who strengthens the economy of this empire with taxes and long working hours, expected encouraging proposals that would offer a precise and intelligent management of economic policies to cushion the indirect impact of international wars. They also anticipated proposals of greater significance for their own citizens in terms of rights, equality, security, and progress towards national prosperity.
WHAT THE WORLD SAW DURING THE PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE
A ‘tell-all’ session…, marked by a relentless attack from the co-author of ‘The Midas Touch,’ which effectively cornered the incumbent president, painting him as cognitively unfit. It revealed to the world that the leader of the foremost global power easily loses orientation and struggles to coordinate ideas. Amidst hesitations, blinking, and moments of lost gaze during the debate…, the president left citizens pleading for him to abandon his aspiration to continue governing. Meanwhile, Donald Trump showcased his ability to confront head-on, launching domestic inquiries and discussing immigration issues, as well as conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza. This rendered his weak and confused opponent hesitant and uncertain.
One: ‘I don’t think he even knows what he just said.’ ‘You’re a loser.’ He mentioned a son who fought in Iraq for his country and tragically passed away from brain cancer.
The other: ‘You sleep with porn stars.’…, ‘And…, uhh, umm, sorry, uhh.’ In conclusion, it seems to me that the current global powerhouse may have, following the recent debate…, lost the respect and fear it once commanded worldwide.
THE AMERICAN URGENCY
North Americans, Americans, and for the sake of the continent, are in urgent need of a renewal of political leadership. Both Republicans and Democrats are eager to build figures that help them regain the image of power, control, and intellectual capability that has brought them 75 years of renown and worldwide fame of the American dream, and the respect and fear of those who threaten them.
